Michael Parle
BA (Hons I) UNE M.Psychol (Clin) UNSW Grad Cert AGSM
Consulting and Clinical Psychologist
I provide psychological therapy for adults, bringing together what we know from psychology research studies with each person’s specific situation. So, my approach is individually tailored.
I also have a special interest in the psychological impact of physical health concerns, including serious health threats such as cancer, cardiac conditions and palliative care. This interest includes the way health professionals communicate and respond to their patients, and how they maintain a sense of reward and manage burnout.
Over the last two decades I have lectured at a post graduate level for clinical psychology trainees, medical specialists, general practitioners, nurses and other health professionals. I also provide clinical supervision, coaching and support for clinical psychologists and other health professionals.
I have completed the Graduate Certificate in Change Management from the AGSM, at UNSW which has helped me understand how organisations and broader environmental factors can impact on us as individuals. From a psychological perspective this helps to balance qualities that are enhanced by stability and reliability and those that flourish with flexibility and innovation.
